Default James Maude Linden AC at Little John Lakes

Well we could not have been in a more pictureque setting than in the heart of Sherwood Forest for our second match of the new season at the Little John Lakes in Ollerton. We fished the Maid Marion lake with a good turn out and the weather to match, with all the anglers weighing in and fish being caught all around the lake all day. Top honours went to the junior of the club young Ashley Skeldon who fished the margins most of the day on worm, well done Ashley. The results as follows:

Ashley Skeldon: 44lb-17oz
Dave Sewell: 41lb-4.5oz
Wayne Jerram: 40lb-10oz
Shaun Green: 38lb-2oz
Pete Lambert: 35lb-3oz
Kevin Brown: 34lb-15.5oz
Paul Skeldon: 32lb-3oz
Alan Cox: 30lb-11.5oz
Johnny Evans: 29lb-13.5oz
Pete Jackson: 27lb-11oz
Lenny Burton: 27lb-10oz
Brian Cox: 22lb-12oz
Dean Collingham: 21lb-4.5oz (deanochang) T/A member
Billy Harrison: 18lb-13.5oz (weldec) T/A member
Kyle Wood: 18lb-13oz (woodystag1) T/A member
Laurence Butcher: 4lb-5oz

So with all the anglers useing the scales it was a very close run match. A massive thank you must go to Mr S Beard for keeping a very well presented fishery.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Excellent day Sumo, we may be booking a couple more matches for next year. They supply all keepnets and landing nets and weigh you in, its just like clock work no harm done to the fish at all very well run fishery. There was a feature on the lakes in June's edition of Advanced Pole fishing mag with some cracking Barbel and Bream caught. definitley one for the future.

Hi Justin, Most of the weights are made up of small Carp 8oz -4lb with the exception of some Bream / Barbel. There is a good head of roach and small skimmers, so if you were to target these i'm sure you would have a good weight as well. Check the weights in the Angling times some good weights coming out. I cannot praise Steve Beard enough for the way that this fishery is run.
