Default James Maude Linden AC at (Portland Waters)

21st June and James Maude Linden took 19 anglers to the up and coming and one for the future that is Portland Waters. What they have invested into this complex is fantastic, not just in money but time and effort and with some great plans for the future this fishery will be up there with the best, credit to Mick and his family for the effort they have put into making this a anglers paradise. Well the weather did not dampen the spirits of the Maude Linden lads with 19 anglers poised for a great match and what a way to start the session with the newly opened club house serving one of the best breakfasts you could ever eat at any complex, bellies full of food and heads full of ideas it was down to the draw and then down to the pegs and the rain but this did not dampen the spirits, whistle blown for the all in and you guessed it the wind gets up but we battle on with some good weights be caught from the off and many anglers baggin up early.
The results are as follows.

Alan Cox: 63lb
Kyle Wood: 59lb-12oz (woodystag1) T/A member
Pete Jackson: 58lb-10oz
Paul Skelldon: 37lb-1oz
Ian Carr: 31lb
Lenny Burton: 24lb-5oz
Billy Harrison: 23lb-13oz (weldec) T/A member
Shaun Green: 22-1oz
Johnny Evans: 21lb-12oz
Terry Wiggins: 20lb-6oz
Kevin Brown: 19lb-3oz
Brian Cox: 19lb
Terry Cheeseman: 14lb-12oz (wormmaster) T/A member
Tony smith: 11lb-2oz
Nick Heath: 10lb-4oz (cheekybrat) T/A member
Pete Lambert: 7lb-9oz
Dean Collingham: 6lb-15oz (deanochang) T/A member
Ashley Skeldon: 1lb-9oz
Lawrence Buthcer: 3oz

All anglers must weigh to gain league points.

Thank you for taking the time to reading.

Next match 28th June at Sapphire Lakes.

Hi Larry, The lake we fished on was the four islands and has thirty pegs we have a match there on the 13th of September if you are free would be a pleasure to have you as a guest, breakfast on me. The lake we fished was the one over the little bridge that i took you on a tour, you would love it Larry being canal man, around 28 pegs on that one.

Default Portland

Portland is a great little fishery. The 3 newer lakes are very good and you are odds on for a good bag wherever you fish. We had a club match recently on the canal and 24lb was only good enough for 9th. I have some great inside info that I might be willing to share if the bribe is good enough

Peter that is great news mate, I will tell hon sec on saturday and make sure that a spare peg or two if you have a companion, you will love the day out mate the banter is grade A right up your street. And a chance to clasp the hand of Worm Master again.

Hi Mark777,

Yep you are spot on mate and more to come. Have only fished the Long Island Lake in winter last year we had some nice stockies, it is a bit deeper and longer to the island, have you fished it yet?

It certainly would be a great place to have a T/A get together now that the resturant is open for business

Hi Bill

Fished the long island earlier this year and it fished its head off. It is a good bit deeper as its about 8ft 3 or 4 sections out.Started on a small method feeder tight to the island and had small carp every chuck on corn before getting bored and thought I would try something different. Ended up catching on corn shallow at about 4 mtrs everything from carp, f1's roach rudd and bream.

Very enjoyable day it has to be said. If your looking for anyone to make the numbers up I would be happy to help.
