Match Report - Suffolk Water Park - Vince Morgan Memorial Match - Sunday 27th July.

The first 100lb open match weights came out today. I thought I must have won it - to make it worse I hooked a fish with the whistle in my mouth, 30 seconds to go, got it halfway in and blew the whistle, dropped the whistle and shouted fish on and next second it was off. The fish average 3lb so it cost me dear. Mind you, both the winner and I lost other fish so it wasn't just that one but that is the one I will remember! What a day for large weights, two 100 pound weights led the field of 22 anglers. These are the first 100lb open match weights from Suffolk Water Park. Despite the baking hot sun and light variable winds the fish decided that they would feed today. There were a lot of fish showing on the surface whilst anglers were tackling up. There were 2 sections on M1 and 1 section on M2.

1st Mike Whittaker, Diawa Angling Direct, fishing pellet up in the water from peg 32 (M1) with a weight of 103lb 10oz. Mike had fish to 7lb
2nd Richard Watson, Nisa Waveney, pellet up in the water from peg 49 (M2) with 101lb 7oz Richard's largest fish was 4lb
3rd John Dale, Nisa Waveney, paste down the edge from peg 53 (M2) with 75lb 2oz
4th Rob Ledger, Ipswich, from peg 9 with 56lb 10oz
5th Bob Wessels, Dynamite Baits, with 55lb 12oz
6th Nick Clarke, Gipping Angling Preservation Society 47lb 15oz
