Tim Horton made today his own with a magical ton of all things with fins, but he was not the only ton on the day and was pushed all the way...
Tim and his first bag of skimmers
Tim Horton, Tuberttini, peg 14, 116-4-0
There was a bit of a gust on the water that made pole presentation a bit tricky a full stick so all of those in the running adjusted very quickly to the shorter line and continue to catch, well Tim was on his game today and dropping short proved to be a master plan, Skimmers and Tench were soon in the feed zone and the creature form the deep also made a show, one was landed for 10lb and released while another cleared the hook without sight, so pellet at 7m proved its self again to be a nice comfortable approach.
Darren Connock, Magic Lakes, peg 39, 111-10-0Darren was fishing his first ever open match on the lake today and you can imagine little face when he cleared the 100lb, and again for Darren the fishing was near impossible at long range so down the edge foe Darren with micro pellet and corn to the hook, this was a carp fest six carp landed three released without question and three more left for a stewards at the scales, by any other week here if you land six carp you should really be away counting your winnings but these skimmers and tench prove the carp wont always win...well done new boy of course we slung him in for being flash!
John Dulieu, Viscount Angling, peg 32, 77-12-0

My day was an interesting day to say the least, I drew peg 10 not a favourite of mine went to get my rods out and had my sons rod bag :) called home and got the mrs to bring mine down, as she arrived I realised I had left my glasses at home of she went again, not a very good start :)
5 minutes before the off I decide to chop my worms and make up a dozen balls of ground bait to feed off the cup thats the nornal routine only I had left my worms at home, I guess I was destined for a bad one, I decided another call to the wife would probably push her over the edge so I fished without them, not a good move to be honest worms are deadly here.
Any way off we went 12 balls at 12 metres and the wind started It was best part impossible to fish at that length and I found after 2 hours I had very few skimmers and had to re feed at 9 and hope they would move closer, well they didnt I ended up with 1 carp around 14lb and a few skimmers my savour was I fished for bits at 3 metres and massed 26lb of them in the last hour and 20 minutes to total 42lb 12 oz not bad for a bad day this place really does rock
