Default St Davids Angling Club Batchley 3rd in eight match series(batchley Pool) Best 6 count

The 3rd match of the eight match series was fished at the pool to day, with 9 anglers in the draw prospects of good weights were dampened by the nights hard frost. With an average depth in the pool of 2 -3ft cold frosty days are usually hard to say the least, and even in summer the venue presents unique challanges as double figure carp are present but not in great numbers. Tactics required are more usually adopted on canals with bread punch the No1 tactic (due to the no of people feeding the ducks ) although maggot/pinkie have there days. new member Andy wixford Peters was looking to build on his excellant start to the series drawing peg 7, best mate and fellow new boy Rich Need (Batchley 210) was looking to improve on a disasterous start of last and last but one only bringing 8oz and 1lb 8oz to the scales drew crack peg 25 at the outlett (No pressure then) fishing punch at 9 meters the peg produced in line with current form taking a 4lb carp and 3 fan tail/crucian carp to 2lb plus 2lb of small roach to register 11lb and take the match. Venue expert Alan Hook was second off peg 23. Fig kings failed to capitalise on his victory last outing off the same peg posting a hard fought 1lb 8 oz ( no 8 pounders today thank god)

1 R Need 11lb
2 A Hook 4lb
3 A peters 3-15-0

Wink well done batchley 210

An impressive weight of the end peg flyer, you did well to land those fish on 8lb direct and 18 elastic, and kept your cool as the crowd of admiring spectators gathered behind your peg, hope i can emulate this fantastic victory one day!!! only joking old pal good result.
