One hand behind my back.

by jethro on 24th August 2010 at 07:20 PM
Aston again, I do fish other venues but this one is comfortable for me with not too much walking & flat from the car park to the pegs.

Not being able to fish long with my pole I thought I'd fish a small method to the far bank about 12 mtr across, it's not a method I've fished mainly because with only one hand I considered it too tricky to load the feeder but with the help of Preston's mould I thought why not.

I watched Nathan Watson in the Fishomania final on Sky

One hand behind my back.

Mr Paul Hudson the BBC weatherman said no wind with just a light shower, that got me in the mood so car loaded I was set.
Bait today is half a bag of Yorkshire Baits garlic ground bait mixed at home, 2mm feed pellets, soft hooker Kopy Kat pellets, & a few grains of pearl Barley [for hook only]
My usual 4ft rig the reason I mostly use a 4ft rig is because the fish this time of year as we all know fish are easy to get feeding shallow, but for me it is just too difficult to feed

Aston pond 5

After my last trip I've been stuck in the house till the wind subsided, a calm forecast tomorrow so Thursday
evening tackle sorted ready for morning.

In no hurry as usual my early rises these days are a steady 7am, by the time I'm ready I don't normally get to the fishery before 8 30am. After getting there & stopping at peg 31, it did look a bit strange cos for some reason all the margin reed were had been pulled out & left on the bank.

KJS pond 5 peg 1 July 7th
KJS today I decided on peg 1 only reason no walking it's just at the entrance, all my gear sorted & decided on a margin swim to my left close to the reeds @ short distance just a top 2 + a short no4 a doubled 5 elastic to a .12 rig .10 hook length a b6ll 16 hook, bait wise 3mm meat + micro feed pellets with crushed hemp.
First job over soak the pellets to a mush then add the hemp to the tub till a milky mix achieved.
Plan is every drop to feed

One hand behind my back.

Not really behind my back but to explain what I mean if you make a fist with your right hand & keep it closed that's my predicament, that's enough of my personal problems I won't mention it again.
My wife's my road manager as it were & after we load the car mostly by her effort she drops me off at Aston KJS pond 5. When I say drops me off what I should say is after she's taken my kit to my chosen peg helped me arrange my tackle where I want it I'm left till I want picking up. So all
