Hi y.m.f. no my picture was taken at boldings, I was just landing my final and match winning fish.

just gettin me gear ready for best match of the season - mallory park nr leicester,it's a motorbike racing cirsuit with lakes in the middle and it's supposed to be pretty prolific in terms of match weights 400lb won it in the week on 5 hour match- most ive ever caught in 5 hours is 137lb so i'll probably be last !!!!! i'll let you know??

Yes I live in Belmont road just down the road from club 2000 fishing tackle (cost cutter) and 5 mins from Wassel grove.
In answer to your question regards fishing in and around Stourbridge you have Wassel,Stourbridge canal at the bonded warehouse,The canal in and around merryhill (behind link 51) is briliant for anything from typical canal fishing to double figure carp,big chub and tench.
Warrens hall nr rowley is good but noit really for young persons on there own or people with posh cars cus there are some right nutters frequenting the pools looking for trouble.

By far the best place I would recomend localy would have to be Sion farm for quallity carp fishing but more so some exellent roach and skimmer nets in the colder months when the carp heads and numpties stay away.
Look out for the silver only matches which Sionking runs in the colder months,best silver matches going with up to 80lb nets of silvers with icw on the water.

I think I started match fishing when I was about 11 or 12, just junior matches and I did ok, got better as good anglers showed me how to go on and was winning open matches and the Intermediate National for 16 to 21 year olds at 14! Some people are naturals but good teachers is very important. Just keep going and learning from the top anglers, good luck mate.
