Default slow start but blinding finish..

What a day i had at Partridge lakes.
Got there at 8am place was already packed , managed to get on Spefy Canal as there was a match on two other lakes ,,, and the rest was quite full.

Tackled up within 5 mins i had two nice F1's and my mate had a couple to.
i thought we was in for a good day ,
We i thought wrong , that was it ,, bites went dry no movment in the water apart from fry,
We was facing a match on Marsh and we could here them moaning about how slow it was , now i was on march last week and it was an awesome day, a fish a chuck only small stuff but prob enough to get a good weigh in a match,, 50 fish no problem,,
The odd fish would be pulled out but nothing big,
my wife was getting a bit board as she is a newbie to the sport but i tiol her it will pick up,,( i hope)
The sun was blazing down and i thought with the warmth the fish should start to show in the margins on the far bank but no nothing ,,
by this time it was 3pm and the match was being weighed in ,, could realy hear the weights but as far as i could hear 27lb won the match,, unless anyone knows different as i couldnt hear the far end,,

Then around 5pm it was like a light switch being turned on, fish started moving on the far bank,
we was in .

my wife started smiling lol.
All three of us where netting every chuck we had around 30 fish each all of around the 3lb mark
my wife had some very nice tench, and as a newbie she did very well to keep them out of the showing weed..

my mate had a couple of nice carp to around the 7lb mark..

what a good end to a very slow day,

all cought on corn to a bed of micro pellet.

Carl,

Its to do with the change in water temperature and the light fading. Glad you caught in the end though!

The same thing happens to us when we go to Ireland every year, I could put you on pegs where I would gaurantee you will not catch a thing during the day - but as soon as that light starts to drop away its like you say, like switching on a light and you go from nothing to a fish every chuck and 100lb in two hours!
