My first trip to 5 Ways @Wolvey was pretty enjoyable.


I didn't have anything overly impressive but in all i landed 16 fish (1 got away as they always do) but for a days pleasure fishing and a water i've never fished before i was very impressed with the results.

Mainly Mirrors ranging from 6lb 3oz to 10lb 4oz and a few commons from 3lb to 4lb 7oz.

Tha lake is obviously well stocked and the fish (Mirrors especially) are very pale you could mistake them for Ghosties and I was catching within 5 mins of chucking my rods in. The margins produce really well and you can take them from under your feet if you're quiet enough. Tucked up tight to the islands seemed to produce the fish too although I only had 2 runs off the island the rest of the fish I took from the middle of the lake in-between the 2 islands.

The facilities are good, showers, toilets, cafe/shop and they will deliver your food to your peg for you which is an added bonus if you're fishing alone and don't want to wind your gear in so you can feed your face and well priced too £3.90 for a huge Brekky baguette & a brew. The prices are very reasonable, £9 for 2 rods for a day session, £15 for 24hrs.


I'll definately be taking a trip again soon and put a couple of days in and try to get into the bigger fish that are there (Carp to 28lb apparently).
