Default My 1st ever Double Carp

Was down at staunton court lake in gloucestershire last night for a couple of hours,

was on the waggler, 6lb main down to 4lb with a 16 barbless

not seen much catching going on when i turn up, so i set up and fish corn about 4 metres out and feeding a few loose bits with each cast,

and with a few cast i start hitting the skimmers,

im getting skimmer after skimmer then i bump a carp then the next one the hook went :-(

back to a few more skimmers from 1/2lb-1lb

i had a little tuff of grass island, about 1/2 metre diameter to my left so i just plonked my corn there...........................then boooooom

my line is screaming across the lake and im trying to pick up where the line was,

i knew this was a big one and i was very doubt full i was going to get it in

so 45 mins later im starting to win the battle, so i pick my net up and think, balls this might be too small

so im gently pulling him and he goes straight into the net, i am welll chuffed!!!!!

so out comes the unhooking matt, get the hook out and put him straight back in as he was a bit restless and i didnt want any harm to him

he was approx 15lb common carp!!!!

i was so excited after, my hands and wrists where aching but pumping with adrenaline which is a weird sensation

i had one more cast and got an underwater log and snapped the hook getting it off so i gave up cos i couldnt concentrate any longer with the excitement

it is such a great feeling landing a fish like that on such small gear

my previous PB was 8lb from down at white acres.

im not thinking i want to get a carp rod and some heavy gear
