Default Meadow Waters

After a long lay off from fishing Daz and myself got out on the bank today.
Daz picked me up at 7.30am and we headed south to Meadow Waters. We stopped off for maggots, castors and worm.

We arrived at the venue at around 8.45am. The place was packed with carp anglers, oh hell we're not going to get a peg we both thought, BUT, on the second water our favourite pegs were free, we parked the car and got to the pegs. The place was waterlogged due to the amount of rain we have had, but the pegs were pretty clean considering.

We both chose to fish the feeder today, Daz was using his ever present chopped worm, maggot and caster for hookbait. I fished maggot all day. My groundbait was halibut groundbait with brown crumb.

Daz was the first to land a fish, a skimmer, which was followed by more skimmer's

I waited a while for a fish to come to my bait, double yellow maggot, my tip wrapped round and fish on, a nice bronze bream of about 2lb. Another 8 bream fell to my rod, along with 6 or so skimmers, and i was dissapointed not to land a roach all day.

The weather was very warm, but at around 11am it decided to rain heavily, not to worry we had our brollies up,

The break in the weather did not dtere the fish, we both managed more fish. The day drew on and we decided to call it a day at 4pm.

And my bag

The venue is not an over stocked match water where you are guaranteed a heavy bag on every visit.
You have to work for the fish, i think that is the lure of the place.
Anyway another great doy on the bankside with my mate Daz, thanks mate your a star. We had a good laugh today. lots of news to catch up on, Daz has been working away and we ony chat on the fone for a short time.
Some will know this as THE SECRET VENUE,

Can't beat a good day out with a mate Andy.
Catching is a bonus.
