Default New car... what would you get?

I am looking to get a new motor - there must be some brilliant deals out there to be had at the moment - anyone got any recommendations?

i'd love to scare one of the little 1.0 stick on stripe boy racer's off the road with that beast.

I may need to buy one myself i didnt realise owning a rive oil rig would cause me so many problems getting the gear in the car. I told the misses something has to go and we decided on the child seat well i did when she wasn't looking

I have got to say that the best vehicle I had was a 2.5 Transit diesel, loads of room for all the gear, a comfortable drive and economical to run but then diesel was cheaper than petrol.
