Default "Sensible Offers"

How many times do we see an advert in the For Sale section, not only this forum but on just about all of them with a classifieds section, that do not state any sort of price but 'offers' or 'sensible offers'? My point is that when something is advertised the person advertising obviously has an idea of what they want for the piece of kit. Only when someone makes a low offer does the rough price that they actually hope to acheive get stated. It seems to me, and it is only my opinion, that users who post these ads are trying to create an 'online auction' via pm which usually ends up in a long debate/argument on the original thread. Surely it would make more sense to put at least put a rough idea of the price you are looking for on the ad?

Just my two penneth worth

I agree mate, they know what they want, just be clear and say so!

If I sell old gear I always list a price, if you don't, you shouldn't be surprised when someone bids you in the b###s!

Even brand new tackle is not exempt from not having a price advertised! Look in the mags and you'll see "POA" Price on application next to items. Why don't tackle dealers just put their best prices in?
