Gerrard admitted after the match that the game plan was to score early and then sit on it till the end. Thats never a good way to play especially when things are so delicated poised in the group. England always play better when they play fast attacking football like the premiership so why sit back and hope. Surely getting a second goal would be far better.

To be honest I can't see England qualifying now, Israel aren't a bad side at home but have nothing to play for now so will probably try to get a win which may just leave yawning gaps for the Russians to exploite.

Andy a lot of people have said it was not a penalty, but no excuses mate, I don't think the tactics were right. You still have to admit it was a great goal.
I still believe Robinson should have been dropped a while ago and I believe it will be McNUGGETS downfall for sticking with him.
My opinion I don't think we will make it now and I hope it will bring the end to McNUGGET.

Personally, I think the players did not want to go in tough ! Why ? Simple because why would they want to ruin there entire career over a single match. I say this because that pitch was disgusting. A friend of mine went and come back with some of the pitch turf ( Don't ask me how ) But jesus it felt like needles. It was so sharp and tough it was horrible. I can image the players did not want to go in hard incase they could ruin there career. I would do the same. I think fifa should get involved. This was a disgusting decision to play on this in the first place. you think astroturf was bad. You have not seen nothin.

Respect to england and there fottball players !!!

MatchGaz, it is no good crying about the pitch after the match, the pitch was the same for both teams, if England thought the pitch was bad they should have got Fifa involved BEFORE the match was played and not after.
