using your own name keeps things personal if you are on your own and not a big company. my brother just called his' sean evans interiors' and was very succesful in london. people will call you on reputation rather than a quirky name so go with the personal touch and use your name. good luck with the business.

I agree about using your name. I work for a housebuilder in the North West and get involved with a lot of the sub-contract buying. Its just natural that you refer to tradesmen by name rather than company names. Flick through your local yellow pages, notice how many painters who try to use something clever and catchy. Its not worth the effort in my opinion. Use your name, give it that personal touch,

SplatterMat Decorating

Seriously though if you are going to be limited and also have a website then you need your trade in the company and web address name ... so for example "Black country paint and decorating"... you tell people where you are and what you do.
