Default John Powell - KIngfisher RIP

I am sorry to have to report that Kingfisher suffered a heart attack yesterday and subsequently passed away.
John appeared to have recovered from recent heart and stroke scares and indeed was due to fly off to Malta for a holiday, he was even out fishing yesterday at Birminigham Civil Services waters for whom he was a founder member and had been its Match Secretary for 26 years, he was of course also a long standing member of this site and acted as a Moderator.
My condolences go to his family at this sad time.

That is absolutely shocking news. What a true gent and he will be sadly missed. What a massive contribution he made to Talk Angling and helping others.

Pass my sympathy to his family and friends please.

A sad loss to the site and all those people he met along the way.

My thoughts and sympathies with his family at such a tragic time.

Unbelivable.

He sat on the next peg to me yesterday and told me he was feeling a lot better than of late.

RIP John
