Polepot you should try the pop up blocker from panicware, it's realy good and free, try it you can always get rid of it if you don't like it

i,m afraid you have a virus neil. had exactly the same on mine was a trojan spy virus. had someone clean my computer for £50quid and then reloaded all my stuff and installed avg free off internet which has solved it. mine came in via a music download from one of the kids. it will be an absoloute nightmare untill you fix it.

Try going through your programe files to see if you can spot anything different, try to find a good registry cleaner, the reason that pop up blocker froze is like compleat tangler wrote, you have a virus, if you know how to do it yourself you need to format your computer then reload everything again, sorry i can't be more helpfull.

Polepot you could try these adware removers at this site Free Spyweare Remover | Where to get free anti spyware spybot search and destroy and adaware s e personal, both free and good, can't lose anything the way your computer is at the moment, I use them both and run one after the other
