When I worked as a gamekeepers ass't 20 yrs ago we used these squirrel cage trap Pest Control animal cage traps
They were great at catching them, but the hard thing is killing them after.
We used to use an air rifle.

shooting them with a powerful air rifle is your best bet and is also the method rentokill employed to get rid of a squirrel problem at my relatives ! i will warn you tho that to be "humane" you really do need to be a decent shot and kill them with a single head shot! if you catch them in a trap you still have to kill them!
Rentokill also use poison if they are resident within your property but shooting is the preferred method of extermination

Cheers all, bought a trap on Saturday 31st May, have caught 2 of the little ----ards and let them go 1/4 mile away near a wood, do you think they will make there way back home?

P.S. The first one I caught and released went back up the road where I came from, after I had reversed and drove up the road, the little ----ard ran out from a parked car and I squashed it to a pulp. OH WELL !

you should have killed the horrible yank ----ards not polluting another wood

my brother has a few grey tails hang up in the pub he owns, a free meal and a pint to anyone who brings in a tail of a dead grey, they have reds and so desperately want to keep it that way, Kirkby-Stephen way he lives in, up on the Pennines.

Thumbs up Squirrel Update

The cage is great, have caught 23 to date on a catch and release scheme, let them go about 1/2 mile away in a wood.

p.s. can the little gits swim.
