Default The birds and the cakes

A small tail told to me by an angler who shall remain nameless, plus on no account should anyone conduct a similar experiment.

While on holiday in Amsterdam a group of anglers visited the coffee shops, well not being smokers a few of them decided to by some spacecakes and bought a load between them....

Anyway having enjoyed themselves greatly they travel back to the UK, one angler having kept a couple of slices for consumption at home.

The said angler visits a local lake the next day with the wife and kids - kids want to feed the ducks but they havent got anything to feed them, until he remembers the spacecake in his pockets.... no harm done he gets it out and gives it to the swans, ducks and seagulls now gorging themselves on the tasty cake!

Now try explaining the next events to your kids -

Five or ten minutes pass and then suddenly..... there is a whooshing sound and then a big splash as a seagull crashes into the lake having literally dropped out of the sky from a great height, then another lands head first on the grass next to you, then another and more and before you know it there are 10 seagulls flapping on the ground and some stone cold knocked out...

Next the swans who are now looking a bit worse for wear stroll up out of the water open their wings and lay down on the ground their necks stretched out in front of them along the ground and start making a deep throaty grunting sound like a honk gone wrong.....

The angler in question beat a hasty retreat - but next time you are plagued by swans and ducks you know what to do!
