I too have two kids under 2 and it is a nightmare at times - the little ones love raiding daddy's tackle box and unravelling rigs!

Got a calendar now - thats been a godsend as I have now penciled in a load of matches and so far not a complaint!

This is how many years ago my father got both my brother and I interested in fishing. I have tried to do the same with my two son's. One decided he loved it the other didn't. But even now nearly 40 years after my late father first sat me on his old wicker basket and I caught a pair of eye's out of the canal at Worcester I still look back on it as what is now called quality time with my dad and he looked at it as getting away from work and the house for a few hours and dear old mom just got a bit of peace and quite. So I suppose my point is that when the children get a little older you could turn this into a situation where everybody wins, as dad used to take us fishing in the evenings and then go off on a Sunday to fish his matches and what do I do? I now have a absolutely fantastic partner who lets me go fishing when I like really.
