that would be awesome if could teach him to do that, probably not allowed though. making rigs, tying hooks, carrying my gear. looking forward to him coming along and getting involved. got a few years to go yet though. cheers...

lol .....ive just enjoyed that last 10 mins reading this thread out to my missus and having a giggle! We have a 10 month old and ive recently got back into fishing. It is totally about compromise, i try and fish every 2 or 3 weeks now. As long as you still spend quality time together inbetween the fishing im sure your good lady will be ok. Congratulations by the way Mark, great photo!

I have 2 kids, Tom 4 and Matty 1. I find that it's all about compromise and deals. For instance this weekend coming i planned to fish on the Saturday however my wife is taking Tom to a footie match which leaves me looking after Matty for the day. He is only 1 but quite scary and unpredictable at times. I will take him food shopping so we can check out the ladies at Sainsburys, then to the park and then to the tackle shop as i am going fishing on Sunday now instead.

Keep the other half happy and all will be ok. Luckily my wife is cool with the fishing providing i don't take the p**s and all winnings go straight to her.

    Thumbs up Kids or Fishing

Mark, i thought it would be possible to do both. The truth is my daughter is now twenty and my son has just turned 18. I only managed to get back fishing about 5 years ago after getting my son interested. Best of luck with the task ahead, tight lines and happy families! enjoy it, they grow up so quick.... Bill

    Congrats
I have just been out for my first trip in ten years.
My three year old came out on the reccy with me and i took him to the tackle shop the other day. He was interested in everything in the shop and particularily the magnets as he calls them. I had a pint of mixed!!!!
He has the attention span of a goldfish though so wont be taking him with me just yet.
The misses has however said next time i go they will come and meet me for the last hour as i get there well early and then go for a late pub lunch....BONUS.
