babies and fishing
hi all,
as we have a baby due in 3 weeks. i was just wondering how you guys (who have kids) manage your match calander/ pleasure sessions? dont get me wrong , i will always put my family first but the wife thinks when i go fishing,( and to be honest its not half as much as i would like.) i am actually enjoying being away from her. lol ! .
i dont think all women get the whole" fishing thing", unless you are fortunate to have one that fishes as well. they see it as that you dont want to be with them, god knows whats going to happen when the little one turns up.
anyway would be interested in your thoughts, and possibly tactics on how to carry on fishing when your baby arrives.
ps . hopefully will not offend any women that might read this thread, i am currently fishing a match about every 4 weeks. regards Wilf.....

Mark o Mark o Mark....
Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck for the birth too.
Well its like this mate...tread carefully lol
Your wife will need you around for support probably more than ever, so you should think about cancelling your matches for the next couple of months and play it by ear!!! You dont want any arguments to do with fishing at this stage.
I know, I have been there twice now and if your wife feels you are getting away from her now then what after the baby comes?
You only enjoy the hobby mate, not being without the missus so dont worry about that.
Just help out, bite your tongue and before you know it you will be back fishing again.
Good luck,
Neilio.

Mark, my kids have ruined my angling career! I made the mistake of cutting right back - then she took it for granted! My kids are 3 and 2 now and only just starting to get back into the swing of things now!
My advice would be to miss the first match after the birth and then arrange for her and kiddo to go to friends / family to co-incide with your next match so she is not left on her own (as this is where it all kicks off when she is left on her own all day and gets a problem).... also make sure you have your mobile on all the time in case of emergencies.
Good luck with the birth chap - it will be the best day of your life I'm sure .... but make sure you draw a line in the sand early on and stick to it otherwise you will be fishing ALOT less!
