When using the paste feeder I add some wheat gluten to my paste mix to stop it flying off of the hook, what I do is liquidise up some fishmeal pellets, once I have liquidised a few kilo's I then take out about 1/2 kilo of dry powder and add a good couple of heaped spoonfuls of wheat gluten, you can do the same with say green swim stim groundbait cuts out all that grinding lol ,this ensures the paste will still be soft but won't fly off of the rig when casting, I have used paste springs ect best is a drennan plastic feeder stop, paste springs have a habit of catching in the landing net, Wheat Gluten is available in the rod hutchinson range of carp baits, it's the only time I use the stuff, paste feeder worth using.

Try wrapping the paste around a hair-rigged pellet. Helps it top stay on while casting and gives you a bait when the paste melts off.
Use a cage feeder full of dampened micros for feed.

Just paste in a blockend feeder in the winter for flavour but no feed.
