Default catching bigger fish

hi all, just wondering I fish a local lake, watergate farm in bulford, wiltshire, which holds fish to just over 20lb, yet apart from the odd fish to about 8lb i cannot seem to get to the bigger fish, even though i am catchin 5-30 fish a day, but all seem to come out on average of about 3lb. I have tried fishing off the surface and float fishing, and have also tried a maggot feeder, can anyone advise me on a good way to find the bigger fish?
cheers
azzy

Default big fish

ok brindley92. fish the margins for bigger fish. tight to bank/reeds. fish paste if you fishing daytime. 6pm onwards fish meat. feed big handfulls of meat and hemp until you see signs of action. but only fish the margins. hope this of some use. good luck

Heres a trick i used to use on high pool at woodland view, fish freelined meat in the margins, you will need a size 8 (or the biggest allowed)tied with a knotless knot with a long hair, attatch this to your mainline(no shots, swivels or a float, the meat on the hair needs to be about the size of an englands glory matchbox)tear the meat so its not square and uniform.drop this in the margins to the side of your peg, leave a couple of yards of slack line so it hangs down from the rod tip like a swing tip,now the important bit, dont strike at any movement of the line until it straightens and starts to pull line from the baitrunner(i usually use a centerpin)then just bend into the fish,it takes confidence to fish baits this big but believe me it works(even won a match with this method)and you wont get as many fish but they are more likely to be the size you are after. Regards Peter.

could always use a boilie mate but dont think bites will be as frequent. might pick up the bigger stamp of fish though. A big worm can sometimes get you the odd nice'un.
