Change your hooks back to what you was using see if you are still loosing them.

go for a softer elastic something that is constantly absorbing and taking the lunges of the fish...and is put under strain by the fish

What strength elastic? How big are the average size fish, not the bonuses? Where in the swim are you fishing? What pattern of hooks are you using now and using in the past?
All those things may hold the key to your problems. I would suspect too strong an elastic or striking at liners and losing foulhookers, but it's difficult to give an answer without knowing a few more details.

Still need to know how far out you're fishing, into what depth of water and what average size fish?

losing fish
hi stkflote, i am pretty sure it is not your hooks,as the hooks you have mentioned are all good especially the preston hooks, the pr28's and the eyed version are probably two of the best carp hooks on the market. Have a look at the angle of your pole in relation to the fish, i see lots of people with thier pole up high, and if you are doing that then there is a lot of pressure on that hook hold. I used to do it myself until i was put right.
As soon as you hook into a fish get your pole low and if need be get the tip slightly under the water, they tend to swim towards you then. Give it a go it might be the problem.
cheers

Hi stkflote
all good avice there mate but would not worry too much at the mo as most people are loosing fish right now due to they have been spawning and now they are very hungry so go on a feeding frenzy over any food they find most of the lost fish would be foul hooked mate you will loose one or two at the best of time give it a couple ofg more weeks mate and if still the same then it is time to look at your laccys hooks etc
