Default Fishing relatively unfished waters

Hi guys, im staying at a cottage in the summer which has 2 lakes, i have spoken to the owner and he says that they have seldom been fished, but reckons there are plenty of fish in, carp to 10lb + and various other unknown.
What are the best tactics for fishing a water like this which has rarely been fished?

dog biscuit or crust for the carp off the top, or natural baits fished in the margins

Second that - just take a variety of bait so you have a nice choice just in case.
Good luck

Depending on how long you are staying there just try different things. For the carp some dog biscuits on the top should work a treat but be sure to throw in a few freebies first before you begin fishing. Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that if you do get fish feeding on the dog buiscuits make sure you keep low to the ground as i imagine they will spook quite easily with them not being fished for much before.

Hope that helps
