Default Round or Square meat?

Have any of you gone away from using square meat to round meat and do you think it has any benefit - or is it just a confidence thing feeding meat that looks like a pellet?

Also have you come across a meat cutter that does round meat? I have my own one I made with alot of time from 6mm copper pipe cut into loads of inch long pieces and stuck together but still takes a fair time to do a few tins!

No, I'm talking about feeding round meat instead of cubes!
