Over the last few years I've watched fishomania and would like to see a new venue for the final.
Where would you like to see it and should it be swapped every year

I think the venue is perfect for TV, Logistics, spectators.

Unfortunately it's become very peggy.I think the way to go would be to take out all the bigger carp, anything over 3lb and replace with fish that dont hog corners like chub. bream, tench and F1's.

There would still be pegs better than others but in my opinion it would create more of a level playing field.

i posted a thread a couple of weeks ago asking same question, the final is at the right venue but the pegging is wrong, will raison fished by far the better and what an angler,to say he was on an unfancied peg,if he was on 16 i would love to see that weight.where do you think, lindholme has the lakes for "celebrity" fishing, lakes, but not logistics.good question but got to agree it could do with a change, maybe cutting back to a 14 final and keeping a 5lb max fish and do away with regular weigh ins and corner pegs out.by the way put £30 pound on peg 16 without seeing who was on it and got it at 6-1 so cashed in if it had been will would have got maybe 2-1 or less so it is purely peg draw make it more even sure...............llelani looked well good.

I so your post and its got me thinking, your right it too peggy i would like to see it moved about, 1 year up north then the midlands then down south. My choice would be Mallory Park,i don't like it when its in the same place all the time it becomes clicky. it would be nice to some of the venues would be able to host it.

Surely one or two of the bigger commercials around the country could gear themselves up to host such an event? Some of the fisheries round here seem to have a new lake dug every year?

Just think of the revenue it would create for them, hosting the final, and then the rest of the year it would attract people wanting to fish the "fisho-final" venue....

Just my two penneth..

i put the post on a few other forums and 1 of the best ideas was to let the sponsors build a lake that would be a sort of Wembley for finals, i just think its a great idea

WOODHOUSE is near the mark,it must be a bad feeling to go all the way to the final only to have it taken away in draw tent.if the "lumps"were taken away then it would be a fishing match.to build a wembley sounds brill but you would still have "fliers" and corner huggers.

Yes, I have been in the final a couple of times and it is the worst draw bag you have ever seen, everyone is there at a slap up dinner - they have a stage up the front and that bloke from the darts announces your name and you get called up to the stage..... you then draw a peg out and they as you to comment on it - you can immediately tell from everyones faces as they draw what they have got as they know the 2 or three pegs that are needed.

Obviously some anglers take it better than others and thats why they dont show the draw live on TV!!

As for the competition and venue - its about time they upped the prize fund, they should also make the matches bigger or have more qualifers - it has the potential to be massive - they could even take it europe wide. As for the venue I would like to see a purpose built venue but dont think its gonna happen unless Barry Hearn is going to buy my bit of land off me and develop it! It would be nice for it to go around the country - perhaps convert it to a "Premier League" of angling - but would it get the viewers and attendances if there were matches once a quarter, i.e. four matches a year say.
