One of my pet hates is Anglers who think that they know it all; as I think that the best anglers realise that we are ALWAYS learning something new.

Ivan Marks realised this a long time ago and he regularly asked as much as he told. As do most of the better anglers.

i think we need to do a little soul searching sometimes, many moan about britains youth culture,we as adults should be making it easier for kids to fish, why dont all fisheries loan out tackle and give them some guidance, have a beginners pool for instance, its a bit like the people who rant at learner drivers, were they born with a driving licence?. no, we have many parents these days who have to work and school holidays means kids left to their own devices while their parent or parents are at work, surely we are big enough as a hobby and as people to give a little help where needed

1 My wife working crap hours , so i get to fish very few matches
2 Fishery owners who talk down to you and have no respest for the customer
3 Fishing 4.5 hours in the cold and amassing a nice bag of roach , then some noddy with 10lb line, lands a lucky carp and wins it.
4 The gale force wind that always seems to blow in my face , whatever side of the lake im on
5 The crap peg i always seem to draw
6 The angler who always pulls the flier
7 Me drawing the flier and fishing like a noddy.
8 Catmeat = wasps ( me running round like a man possesed)
9 1 inch perch that always swallow the hook
10 Mates who ask you too take them fishing and then phone at 10.30 to say they are not going after you planned the whole thing.

People who stand behind you criticising your methods telling you that it shouldn't be done like that but when questioned, their answer is 'well, i cant tell you because everyone would be doing it'

Litter is my ultimate pet hate, it is not needed - does it hurt to take litter home?! Anglers not treating fish correctly leading to damaged mouths etc; anglers fishing in the next peg when they have 2,642 yards of river to fish and trotting a stickfloat at your feet. Similarly I have been the victim of carp anglers casting 40 yards from the opposite side of the lake to within 8 feet of my swim - casting over ££££s worth of bait I had put down. Also anglers who do not pay for the privelege or right to finish. Many times I have been on the river two chaps turn up neither with a license but fish anyway with a total lack of respect for the club or anglers in the club. Then again I also dislike the obnoxious angler, a fortnight ago I was fishing on a small commercial fishery tucked away at the bottom end when an angler turns up puts the radio on for the Grand Prix has it on full blast so it feels like I have Lewis Hamilton next to me; the chap then shouts across the lake 'any good mate, you had anything what are you using, what's the best method on here' when packing up he throws his left over bait into the bushes so now the damn rat population is increasing.... I could go on..

Blimey, where did you dig this up from, I don't mind helping anyone but why should I pay to fish and end up as an unpaid kid minder whlie the parents are probably down the pub, never leave kids unchaparoned near water Father Liam.

Quite right father!
Kids should be encouraged and i dont mind helping them out if they need it!
If more kids were encouraged to take up our sport, society would be much better for it! As long as they are well behaved there aint a problem if they aint tell em and the parents when they collect them!
As for things that annoy me!
1)cheats
2)stupid worthless rules and bans i.e 50lb in a keepnet,No tins to be taken to peg,max hooksize etc
Majority of which are never enforced or are impossible to apply!
3)people who try to get baits banned which they dont like! (catmeat maccaroni etc)
