If you are going to fish for roach and there are plenty there I would not go with a groundbait approach at this time of year, simply loose feed and see what turns up to start with and feed to your bites - often the best approach when fishing for roach on commercials is to fish at a distance where you can comfortably throw maggot underarm - i.e. for me this is about 5-6M..... have a couple of rigs - not too heavy, like a 0.2grm and have one set at depth and one at half depth. I would then start on the feeder for at least an hour while feeding very regularly by hand flicking out 6-8 maggots onto my 5M line... then after an hour hopefully come in on the maggot line and bag up!

Dont be tempted to go onto the close line too early as you need to give them time to get their heads down.
