I wouldn't go that far. Remember almost all rods are now imported that way, from all manufacturers, including Daiwa, apart from the models I've mentioned. The Microlite II is a classic though, and IMO best light float rod available. It's got a beautiful action, has a lovely finish and is superbly packaged, with a 10 yr warranty - and you can get them on ebay for about £140! What more could you want?
