Has anyone had any success with rubber casters??

The reason I'm asking is because on a pleasure session yesterday the fish were really having the real thing bagging up big style on chub, hybrids etc.
Waiting no longer than about 10 seconds for the float to bury, so I stuck a rubber one on just to see and.................................nothing not even a sniff.
Back to the real caster and buried again, time after time.

Im not surprised to be honest. If they were taking it that quickly they would be watching it fall, if it doesn't behave naturally = no bite. I imagine theyre not as buoyant as the real deal and would sink too quickly.

the only time i use them is fishing shallow 6"-8".
