Default Open Match entry fee's,Super Pool,Golden peg.

What do you think is a reasonable cost for a open match, when the peg fee is £5.00 ?
What about a Super Pool to allow anglers to decide on how much cash they want to gamble ?
What methods of running a Golden Peg have you come across ?
Any information or advise welcome Thanks.

For the open £15 with £5 super pools, for the golden peg around here its £1 in minimum of 15 anglers for it to count ( if under 15 the golden peg isn't run and the money goes to the winner on the day) and the winner on the day tries to draw his peg number out of the bag at the end. This prevents chancers trying to fiddle it with mates. The golden peg will also be topped at a maximum amount about £300 so if its not won before then another golden peg pot is started.

hi mate you have just stared to get a few showing up on the opens now.Dont put it up to much or you might start loseing a few i am all for a golden peg. our club do a golden peg £1 we also do a super pool but that is optional.if you do a golden peg you must keep track who as paid in to it each match.and run it for the faces you know

Sumo altho i have only fished 1 open so far i agree with you if the cost is too much people will drift off to other opens ( theres quite a few on saturdays in this area) as for bonus/golden peg £1 seems the norm but set a maximum limit of how high the pot can go

5 ways, Why are you asking is it because some anglers (winners) are asking to increase the payout?, Do you want more anglers?, If you answer yes to these be very carefull because you will drive the majority away!, Make your match value for money then people will turn up,,, How?,, well keep the price ''down'' by all means have an optional pool £5 is fair but start with say £3 and only increase if its popular and pay this to the top 3. Golden peg only works in club match'es where you have the same people turn up, If you run one on opens it will complicate things (Mr top angler WILL turn up when the pot is full and win it). If you make any changes do it slowly that way you should'nt scare off your regulars....Hope this helps.

What itsme says is fair enough but golden pegs do work in opens when they are capped the ones i fish are at £100 and £300 this tends to keep away the golden peg sharks, it also has the benefit that when it is won there is still money in the next one.

I would beware of setting a low price then increase it when a few people start to turn up because that will give rise to money grabbing jibes, around here the average cost is £12 to £15 the only thing that regulates wether anglers will use a venue is the quality of fishing.
