Default Split sections between lakes

After Fishomania on Saturday think there should really be a change in the rules regarding splitting sections across different lakes.

Steve Ringer (Carpmagic) was in my section on Saturday at Woodland Lakes Thirsk, I think he fished a blinder from a lake where he realistically had no chance of winning the match. So he only real chance of a pickup was the section, anyway having won the lake he later found out that there were 2 pegs for the section on another lake - which beat him for the section.

Wouldn't it make sence to just have the whole of each lake and have a lake prize? As Steve deserved to win something.

Same thing has happened to me twice, first time at Stub Ponds a couple of years ago. On a lake where I had no chance of qualifying but I won the lake only to find that as there were 22 on it 2 sections of 10 and me and another bloke on a section with 8 from another lake which had much bigger wieghts.

The next time was last year at Monks lake I was the first peg on the lake where the winner and second came from and had the best wieght right round the lake to where they were sitting at the end of a split about 25 pegs. However, the far end of the lake below us was in my section and I lost out again.

The NFA organisers stick on the 10 anglers in a section, rather than the principal in an individual rather than team match, that in a section you are fishing against the anglers around you.

Any one got any influence with the NFA!!!!!

i totally agree mate I have fished several matches that were split across 3 lakes in the past but logically there was a prize for the winner on each lake, to not have a realistic chance of winning a lake/section or even match from a separate lake is a no goer in my book

I've never heard anything like it in my life . Spilt sections on bridges , although unavoidable , do my head in , never mind different lakes
