Poles apart
Well there we were minding our own business, when we see two poles (foriegn variety) removing a fish they've just caught.
Quick as a flash my mate is in his van an up the road.
Next I see is him coming outta the undergrowth carrying a plastic carrier bag, gesturing quite angrily.
Turns out that it ws a 2lb perch, which was deep hooked so they just cut the line. Fortunatly my mate got his forceps and removed the trebles and returned the perch to live another day.
What gives these imbaceles the right to think they can do as they please,

Eastern Europeans have no access to the sea and mostly only eat freshwater fish, not something we do but it's how they are its an habit I suppose, to them it's only food how we change their minds I don't, but does it really matter it's only a fish.

AHA , I thoiught that was you Steve
Technically thats theft and they should be nicked.
I don't think there is any excuse for stealing fish if every angler in the UK took there fish home we would soon have no fish left in our waterways, they just couldnt sustain the removal.
I would have got on the mobile called the club secretary and then the police

Justin, the police wouldn't have touched them, they only have to ask for an interpreter and they are let off and they know it, the police can't afford interpreters, fact.

hi, nebie here but i must say i agree with you compleatly jeff. im not sure if you are aware just how often this is going on in west mids. i was talking to my local tackle dealer the other week and he was saying there being caught all over, they were nicked for trying to take a 12 lb carp out of stowe pool in lichfield, but the swines had already killed it.
and as you said every fish matters, but the police wont touch them.
i was reading a article in the angling times last month, and the Environment Agency was asking all anglers to please report anyone they saw or suspected of removing fish, or any fish in danger or distress. the phone number is 0800 80 70 60 so stick it in your moblie now.
ps: im finished with the soapbox now if anyone else wants it!

I understood this fishery to be a natural fishery close to your home Steve, of so then check the environment agency bylaws for your area agree with it or not they could be in their rights, i'm not saying I agree just giving you my understanding.
