Default Freshwater Fishing Rod Advice

Hi I was wondring if any one could help me....i am just starting to fish and was looking for advice on a rod. I have used a telescopic rod but it is too small. I have also started to use a 4m whip but im only catching little fish. I was wondering if any one could reccomend a good rod that is affordable for a rookie angler. I fish in freshwater and have been fishing at marske resevoir near middlesbrough if anyone knows it.

Thanks - Paul

Whats your budget and what stocks are in the reservoir Paul? That will influence the guidance and suggestions

Also have a search within these couple of links to get a 'flavour' for what's available

Paul take look here you can get a feeder and waggler rod for just over your £30 budget, they are not going to be the best rods in the world but will get you started
