not embarrasing but trust me funny for me,in the 80s fished the trent and the venue was long higgin,we all drew a peg and after a 30,000 mile walk my mate was setting up,he was about 6 pegs up from me(we were about 12 at the time)when he started running over a field screaming and shouting(looked good as he had waders on)his peg was being used by about 1000 wasps as a nest sight and they were a little angry.to make matters worse some cows decided to drink from his "vacant" peg and made a mess of his tackle.he looked like a tea bag at end of match and a dry net made it better.

I remember once on a junior match down on the Nidd in Killinghall, after the weigh a few of us were larking about when a mate of mine stepped backward into a rabbit warren which consequently saw him fall head over heels into a fresh, steaming cow pat!

When his dad arrived to pick him up he made him wash in the river and he was forced to wear only his waterproofs home in the car, ouch, the chaffage!

Many moons ago we fished the Div 5 national on the (oh bloody hell, brain fart, can't remember), think it was the 40ft drain and another one around there(apparently the biggest ever national, 1991??)

Anyway, we decided on a team plan to get the eels on the pole line on dead maggot. We went to the maggot farm and got enough for the whole team.

Killed the maggots a few days early, so plan was going well. Turned up at the equestrian centre, opened the car boot, cleared an area of about 30 ft, they stank, we didn't notice as been in the car with them.

On the bus, people were asking what is that smell, i denied any knowledge and just kept my head down.

Come the all in, cupped out the maggots, yep they floated, had this image of 11 other guys all having the same problem.

I apologise if you were any of the unfortunate people who had to put up with that smell.
