I had a similar embarrassing moment, it started when i had a match on the trent at fiskerton were a 8o yard chuck was required which i used to be able to do no problem. The next day i was on the witham and it was bream fishing on the feeder, first chuck in this 60 peggar resulted in me hitting a cow on the arse on the far bank, nobody laughed much. I have also caught a seagull on the waggler in a winter league match with every one looking up to see who was bagging but i was playing my fish up in the air and using my landing net trying to land it.

Was fishing the feeder on a club match on the Avon many years ago. Didn't take much notice of the angler setting up opposite me on the other bank. A short time passed when my tip shot round and I struck into what could only be a decent barbel. Stood on the bank watching me was the club mouthpiece ( or snowdrop as he is on here!) giving plenty of helpful advice! After a decent run back to the middle of the river I had to backwind furiously to keep hold of me prize. Strange I thought as I noticed the angler opposite was also playing a monster. A few minutes passed before lines emerged from the river and 2 feeders met, tangled together, much to the hilarious amusement of snowdrop who was rolling round the floor bursting his sides laughing. He couldn't race down the riverbank fast enough to tell everyone else and still reminds me to this day. Still I am pretty sure I beat him on the day.

mine was fishing the wide welland, before swim feders really kicked off, it was a case of throwing your groundbait in , or using a catapult, i used the catty and put my first two balls on the other bank, much to the amusement of the angler at the next peg, who was none other than Ivan Marks, neither of us had a bream but we had a good chat and laugh

Years ago I used to experiment with groundbait ingredients, balled it in only to see it floating..... then frantically hitting it with the pole to try and sink it, as it starts to drift off. Got some strange looks.

Default memorable moment

Not embarasing but more memorable was when me and a few lads were night fishing on the severn at stourport for eels around the confluence of the stour by the old power station many moons ago.

About 11pm we heard what sounded like a night club coming down stream and to our amazement a disco boat appeared.

Imagine the scene,,,,, loads of drunk women and blokes on a boat abusing us and throwing bottles at us...

5 anglers with catapults and big bucket of casters and maggotts

Oh yes did the ladies scream
