Have you tried using drilled bullets for the bulk weight Shaun? Most of the England team do it, it cuts down further the chances of tangles.

Keep up the good work. I'll be home soon and putting some more articles together so there should be a proper catalogue on the site by the time summer comes around.

yes i have steve, but you still need to lock them in place with a small shot to stop them spreading out when flying through the air. also if conditons change its easier to add or take away a shot than a drilled bullets.

"In the past I have used drilled bullets for shot but on the cast they seamed to part causing bows in the line and they hindered casting. One way I did find to over come this was to place pole float silicone through the middle of the bullets then thread your line through the silicone. I did find it very tricky to find bullet weights that had a small enough hole through them so that it gripped the silicone tight enough to stop the whole lot sliding up the line, so know I stick to standard shot."

from the article steve

Very interesting.
With this method, do you manage to reach long distances (more than 35m) ? I tryed but each time I "push" too much on rig, there 1 chance on 2 rig is out of order.

So I use Italian method (big load on float, as 10 or 15g plus 5 to 8g on line to slide), devastating in windy condition in stillwaters, even with only 1m deep. But it is not very sensible...

vinz try and have the bulk that the float sits on closer to the hook 3 feet about right and have the longest drop possible.

simon good luck,
