Default Features and Articles - fishing and angling

Loads and loads of articles just go over and over the same methods on different venues with different anglers - what would you like to see as an article? Particular methods or a particular venue... the reason I am asking is I am going to start doing a few articles for the site and would like them to be what people want to see.

Good idea Simon,
I wrote to Dave Harrel recently to discuss the same issue, and was politley fobbed off! Most magazine features are no more than poor ad's for anglers sponsors. Even if you were the sponsor you would feel short changed, the anglers just don't know how to present tackle or their methods effectively. Just because you are able to catch lots of fish, doesn't mean you are able to explain how and why things work. If you watch Tight Lines, you say see just how inarticulate many of the stars are, great anglers, great personalities but not teachers or coaches.
How often do all the journalist talk about new reels and the bearings and winding power? When there is no connection between the two.
What is needed is a proper skills approach. I have been doing this for clients like BMW, MINI, Bosch and Pirelli for the last 20 years and would be happy to give any advice I can frrely if it would help. Cheers...Mark

Well Mark, if you have some advice then it would be much appreciated - having not done this before I at least want to give it a decent go first time.

Simon,
I have allways found that articles and features are allways more readable when they either give an informed opinion or the illusion of what is desireable when given from a personal perspective ie what has been done by or what the writer would like to see and why. I have been writing articles and short stories for years not on angling but the theory is still the same humour and courting a little controversy gets the juices flowing. Most anglers are very self opionated I think you will agree so use that to either entertain or get them going sorry for any typos hands are a little difficult today regards Stewart

simon, the feature woodhouse and i did last saturday with brian g is the type most anglers want to read. full of little tips and reasons why some things work at certain times and why they don't at others. these so-called crack anglers don't always tell you what you need to know, only what they want you to know. they always hold back some info that is critical to the feature. lee and i held nothing back mate, even getting brian and silverfish on our boxes to have a go themselves. i feel that this is the way to go mate. what do you think then?
