when applying shot sizes 10 and smaller i use styl pliers to tighten them

I would say you are using the right method

I use the wifes eyelash tweezers. With them being a bit more flexible you get a bit more 'feeling' when squeezing if you get my drift!

i use exactly the same as team rattler, here comes my feminine side, if you go boots you can find tweezers with a wider end to them, making it easier to use

i used to use my teeth till they all fell out,must have been biting the shot to tight.

Try using ZLT shot,deep cut super soft moves on the line without damaging it..It's the best i have ever used bar none.
