well if i were you i would have a look around on ebay, collect the pole and inspect it on collection. There have been a couple of Maver Messiah poles going for about £400 - £450 on there lately. 16M pole and what a pole it is aswell award winning pole in 2005 excellent for that money.

my mates got one and they are excellent, believe me i would have snapped one of them poles up if i had that kind of money but £350 was my maximum and kept losing out by around £50 - £75 on ebay, the missus thinks im daft for spending £350 on a pole. When i was looking for a pole (although my budget is slightly under yours) i narrowed my list down to the following:

Maver 151 competition
Maver 201 competition
Shimano Exage AX
Maver Messiah
Garb Prem Legion

hoping i could grab a bargain on ebay i kept bidding and in the end get the shimano for £220 what a bargain!
i also read alot on these poles and read some bad things about maver, yet i have also read many good things about maver. My mate has had a Maver Messiah for about 18months and i can honestly say he has had no problems at all with it. i wouldnt have any problem buying a maver and would have full confidence in one.

Ah right, i was also looking at the Maver 201 on ebay at the moment for £89 but there is 6 days still, anyway dont have the money until i sell one of my air rifles or my greys prodigy specialist and shimano 8000 gte-b reels

Is it really heavy at 16m or 14.5m?

People have been saying how great the Exage is, but i want something a bit different but still have the same quality and it really has to be 16m

Hi Shrimpy, your mate is a very lucky boy with his Messiah, I feel Maver have stream lined this pole to much you only have to sneeze on it and it snaps, I speak from experience my mate has also has one and he has had two breaks and my local tackle dealer has had one sent in for repair this weekend. I have just sold mine for spares to another Messiah man never used it at 16mtrs . I to am looking at the 151comp very good package with it.

Hi Tom, its a mine field out there mate, we all speak from experience so take on board, read between the lines and go for it mate .
