Ive recently changed from a Platt forms 5 drawer box that ive had for 5 years (fosters of Birmingham) and that was a great box but having round (octoplus) legs it started to wibble wobble a lot.Ive had a Preston x3 onbox for 5 months and its great!!! 3 side draws as front drawers are a pain in the rump when your tight to the waters edge.
It came with a casette type foot platform as well and all for £230 (Bristol Angling).
One thing to weigh up is if,you fish waters where you need to wade out a bit (or fish canals where you dont need loads of reels) then a box with detatchable base unit is a great idea. The Preston x ranges dont have a detatchable bases.

Have a look at the new milo range they are a lot lighter than the old ones & the gel seat is well comfy

Chap... only one choice IMHO - the Rive and customse it to the exact spec you need... most comfy and stable + hard wearing box I have ever had.

Would personally recommend the matchbox pyramid system.

Ideal of canal work as it is light even with the footplate, add another winder tray (for about £40) which holds upto 60 winders and ideal for commercial work. Also the bottom 6" section is large enough to carry reels etc.

Would recommend Benwick Sports in Soham if you go this route, great service and will deliver within a day
