Default New Pole advice

Hello all Im new to this forum.

I am interesting in upgrading my pole after recently getting back into the sport. I currently have a middy the works pole which is fine but s heavy to user at 12.5 meters. I am looking to fish around 14.5 meters and would like something that is capable to carch carp tench etc. But I can still use for silvers. Budget is max £500 - £600 any thoughts I always used to buy Daiwa stuff are there poles any good??

Thanks in advance

Hi

Shimano Exage ax. I have one myself and cant fault it at all. Strong light responsive and comes with a 3 or 4 top kits and a cupping kit. Had carp to near double figures on it and not had any problems.

well my advice on poles is "you pay for what you get" if you want to pay £500-£600 for a 14.5m pole you can get a decent one but not top of the line

Default Thanks

Thanks for the above input is the Shimano fishable at full length I know the pole I have now is uncomfortable to fish wiht due to the weight/balance.

I've been looking at Shimano Maver and Daiwa.

Like i said I was always a Daiwa man but not really up to speed on there range.

Why not look for a s/hand pole in the price range, So long as you can have a good look at it first... then you should be able to get a pole in the £1200-1400 price range (new) for that sort of money, That sort of price range take you to the "fishable at 16m all day" sort of pole..!!

there is no such thing as a fishable pole at 16m in my opinion you can fish it but after 2-3 sessions you will get back ake as i found out the hard way

Default exage ax

The shimano is fishable at that lenght yes. I have to say the venues that i fish often dont need it at 14.5 mt but its still very good.

i agree with mark i have the exage and for the price you cant fault it, you can fish it at full length as the same as all poles most of the time you don't fish that far out,16m poles forget it you struggle with all poles at that length half the time its just the case that i have got a bigger one the you lol

Default maver 16m

I have seen a maver 16m Distinction in magazine for £699.. Just think a 16m pole will be fishable at 14.5 easily and comfortabley? Any one agree with this statement. Also what do people to reakon to maver poles have i have heard conflicting reports about them.
