jeff, you might keep them cleaner if you use a pole roost for your top kits, this will keep the top 2/3 off the bank

just get some kitchen roll,get a small piece,make a lightly squeezed ball and for example,put the ball into the thick end of your number 4 section and push it through with the number 3 section.word of warning though,don't make the ball too thick because it will jam inside and forcing it through will split your section.
then just work your way through all the sections.when cleaned and you put it back inside each other to pack it away it feels like a new pole.
give it a go,its simple

Thanks for your tips, I need to get a roost, the power shower seemed to get most out, now I will try the other tips
