Default a choice of 2 poles

I've finally narrowed my search for a silverfish pole down to either a:-
1. Daiwa TDR Competition or
2. Daiwa Connoisser Ultra
Both are 16M both have similar spare package and same price.
Anyone got any experience of either.

i have the same dilemma baggieDell. i have set my budget at £800. i played with the TDR side by side to the 271 and was amazed at how good the 271 was at 13mt for £750 if you shop about. Nothing wrong with the TDR but in my hands didnt feel as stiff at length as 271. However the new MAPAdrenalin PRO comes with such a good package for a similar price, trouble is nobody stocking it yet to have a play with it,,,, what to do what to do !!!

Default Map Pole

Rossi

Had a waggle with the map today at daves of middlewich ( always great service). I had it set up with the number 1 section removed of a match kit and at 11.5 mtrs it was poker stiff. There was no droop whatsoever. All you needed to do was put pressure on your elbow to raise the tip. Simply awesome. At 13 mts it was still awesome. Didnt have room to add any more sections though so cant comment at full length. One major gripe was the length of the top kits. They are far too long. If you fish deep rivers then they would be great but for fishing shallow to a far bank the would be too long. Also I think you would have too much elastic in each top kit so may stretch too far for proper control. Great spares package though.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments on the Adrenalin Pole.

This is one of the stiffest poles we have produced, and is incredibly strong.

The Power Kits are slightly long, but are the same length as the power kits that were suppiled with the Matchtek 2. We are just about to release a Power Kit thats just under 9ft in length that will fit it. This Power kit is from the new TKS pole range that we be at show at the NEC.

How can you compare Diawa with Map. If you buy Diawa now you will still be using the pole for fishing in two years time. Not as a clothes prop

I would say that these poles are more of a match/carp pole rather than a silvers pole.

Default Map Pole

I wasnt comparing the Map with a diawa I was giving an opinion because I have held one. I actually had the pole set up compared to the new preston gxr 1000. I have to say that the top kits on the preston were just the right length and the pole felt lighter at 13 mtrs than the Map pole. However there was a noticable droop in the preston pole compared to the Map and it felt sloppy on the strike compared to the poker stiff Map. I was also told that there is not much difference up to 13mtrs between the preston gxr 100 and the more expensive 2000 model. ( didnt have one set up so cant verify that statement).

I can honestly say that I had never even comtemplated the Map and it was the staff who advised me to have a look at one and im glad they did.

Mapmike. The new length top kits sound like a good idea. Will the adrenalin be offered with these new length kits???

Just like a lot of our poles, people don't know just how good they are until they get put up agaist the competition. There are bigger brand names than 'MAP' but brand names don't always mean your getting the best for your money! Every manufacturer offers a pole within a certain price point, and it's always down to personal choice on which one you purchase.

As for offering the shorter power kits with it, It's something we are thinking about, but the new kits will not be in stock until the middle of March.
