Check out the daiwa strongbeam. Comes with a load of freebies, pole roller, 3 spools of hydro, etc. Top kits are a decent price as well. Take a look on the daiwa website. For 500 quid its a lot of pole.

Ive had plenty of doubles on a maver 151 (i use it as my out and out carp pole) and have yet to have a section even as much as creak on me,let alone crack.

ive seen more posts on these forums about broken garbolino sections than any other topic , and whats more people cant get the replacement sections they require . I think years gone by maver were so obsessed by lightness and stiffness that they neglected the strength aspect , Now with the input that they have from all thier sponcered anglers i cant believe they havnt moved with the times, I personally use a top end sensas pole and i am very happy with it more so than the tourny pro i used to have , if £500 was my budget i would have a serious look at the sensas poles in that price bracket
