Default floats

hi every one.

im having lots of trouble with my floats such as,
getting to like one or two models of preston then they stop making them
or using the drennan ones when i catch a couple of fish on them the line dig's into the body of the float and then it start's taking on water and then when i move the float it damages the line.
or lets say i buy a float and it says "4x 14" on some floats the may take 2x number 8s or on another it may take 7 number 8s.
i have bourght some floats from most of the bigger brands and ill buy two floats the same model and size(like 4x12 or 4x14) and although the floats are identical they require different amounts of shot.
or playing a fish and the tip snaps of.

can any body suggest a float or a number of floats that will solve all my problems.
i need floats for depths between 1-15ft,
for
pellet,
cat meat,
corn,
maggot,
worm,
up in the water,
and laslty i need some cane tips and some hollow or solid plastic tips.
wire and carbon stems.

thinking of trying the mick wilkinson, or the kc carpa floats even though i have had problems with the kc ones before or the garbolino ones.

HELP!

Go for the garbolino range. I used to use floats from just about all the big companies but have since changed to the garbo range. I use the DC4 for deeper water, DC5 for margin fishing and bigger baits, DC6 for far bank fishing on snake lakes etc, DC1 for shallow fishing, DC11 for silvers and have just started to use the DC13 for F1's. If you go to harrisons tackle website you can view all of the range and can order on line. The good thing about their website is that they allow you to order tip colour as well as size.

Hope this helps.

Just to back up Marks thoughts there, the range is superb they are well made and quite accurate, they have his vis tips and do exactly what there description says, With all that said and done the price of these floats is incredibly good retailing at an average of 1.25 per float

I use the DC6 a lot its a great all round float and use its sister float the DC15 when tow is an issue, the difference is a wire stem instead of carbon, the other float in my armoury is the DS 1 its a delicate copy of the fly xl which was my favourite float some time back not used this yet but you can just telll from the build quality there wont be an issue these retail at around 1.50

The Wilky floats are pro floats they are top quality and seriously well made you would have to go some to find fault in them other than the availabilty.

The KC carpa's are a good range, I think a tad overpriced when you compare to say the Garbo range and then what you could get from Wilkinson for the same money.

I was having trouble getting hold of the Preston silver range I have found a source now is this the range you couldnt get?

justin no the silvers are not the ones i cant get hold off.
i find a float i like by preston and i buy a couple of hundre becuase they always close a range that i use. such as the fario, brio, tyson(the tyson now days are not the same from about 6 years ago. now there starting to get rid of the E range which were very good for pellet,

ive never seen the mick wilkinson ones up close but i have never ever heard any thing bad about these float's. what are the best patterns?
