Smile Quivertips

I have four different strengths of quivertips for my rod and was wondering in what circumstances would i need to use each strength.

The strengths are 0.5oz glass,0,75oz glass,1oz glass and 0.75oz carbon

im not sure im right in saying this but the less weighter ones are for rivers and shy bite and the heavier ones are for strong current rivers
