Fishing Poles - Which One
Hi All
Just wondered if anybody could offer me some advice
I am looking for an all round pole for match fishing and carping avaialble with a few sections and pole cup
I am willing to pay around 500 - 1000 but would prefer a good one in between
i am looking for obviously quite a light pole but rigid and stiff as well
Can anyone recommend some for me

Seriously though The Mavers are a well priced pole but do have unusual amounts of trouble with breakages, I think you would have to weigh up the pro's and cons

hello mate
I bought a Maver Definition 16mtr a couple of months ago ,its classed as an all rounder ,ive only used it 3 times due to work in the last few months but i find it one of the best poles ive ever had , light , stiff and still nice to use at full lengh with out pulling your arm off . This is now my 4th pole and by far the best. i may be perswaded to part with it and the 8 top kits ( new elastic fitted )and a cupping kit for the right price ,lol . pm me or e/mail if your interested as i dont really get the time to use it

Gotta agree with Dhumpy on this I spent the last few weeks trying loads of poles around the £1000 mark sat down at fosters today and had the Daiwa G8, Garbolino G796 MAP TKS40 Map Adrenalin 2008 and the sensas 744 out didnt bother with the Mavers as they just dont feel right, Also had the Airity out but had to put it back as im in enough trouble buying this one .
The Sensas for me handled better than any of the others the balance felt a lot better than the daiwa which i originally was going to buy. im really pleased with pole but overall as the spares are excellent and it feels just right for me but the big test of fishing with it is to come tomorrow at Wassell grove hopefully put the hydro to the test and get me some lumps
will give you an honest opinion then and hopefully its all good

I have been looking for a new pole for a few weeks in the 1000 quid range and settled for the preston gxr 2000. Six top kits, extra number four, two pulla kits, cup kit and nice holdall. Was informed that prestons have good after sales dept and good stock levels meanining no long wait for replacements. Also looked at the garbo 796, which was ok but didnt feel as nice as the gxr at any length. You get alot of extras with the garbo, which must be its best selling point as its not really comparable to the preston or the daiwa g8 for the money. The g8 was also very nice and i was very close to ordering one, one less kit than the gxr, both felt nice at 13m, and both lost abit past 14.5. The only thing that swayed it was poor feedback from some local anglers who say they are waiting a LONG time for replacements, Plus the fact that i ordered the new X6 box, and its nice to have things that match aint it!
At the end of the day you need to go around and have a waggle with all the poles you are interesed in. Its a very personal decision, and whatever feels right to you, wont to somebody else but dont let that sway your decision.
